Peer Review Process
All research articles undergo rigorous peer review, with initial screening by editors followed by anonymous reviewing by at least two referees. Reflections on Research and on Practice are reviewed by members of the Editorial Team. All manuscripts sent out to peer-reviewers are accompanied by a letter inviting reviewers to evaluate the scientific merit of manuscripts. The following criteria will strictly be adhered to in the review process:

- Importance and relevance of the subject matter
- Originality of the approach
- Soundness of the scholarship
- Degree of interest to the Journal’s readership
- Clarity of organisation
- Strength of the argument and writing style related to quality
- Narrative or descriptive articles lacking in analytical content are not likely to be published
Peer reviewers of ZJEMAL shall provide one of the following recommendations to the Editorial Board:
- Publish as it stands
- Publish the article with minor revisions or corrections
- Resubmit or Requires major revisions (to be selected only if the article has real promise)
- Reject (reviewer supplies comments to be sent to the author)
- Refer to a specialist
- Refer to another journal (reviewer suggests journal titles)
